LIBTA Fall 2017 Conference

Fall Conference Summary

LIBTA and WECA hosted their Fall Conference "Hacks, Apps and Sway" at the Microsoft store (Walt Whitman mall) on November 7th. A team of three Microsoft employees broke down the day at their store into different segments. First, the educators were given the opportunity to learn more about their Microsoft products from virtual reality systems to an array of surface options. The common theme was to empower educators and students to achieve more. Secondly, technological resources such as creating a OneNote class to stay organized, deliver curriculum and promote collaboration was introduced and demonstrated. Lastly, simple and accessible free apps that inspire students to be create, innovating and cultivate curiosity were discussed for multiple disciplines. Following the sold out conference educators met to continue networking and recap their day. We would like to thank Microsoft for supporting teachers and for providing such worthwhile information.
